Welcome!

I am a sociologist, researching on questions around Internet, science and society. In particular, I am interested in how the Internet changes the way we deal with knowledge and its societal dynamics.

Currently I am a PhD candidate at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS), which is part of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. In my dissertation I focus on search engines from a sociology of knowledge perspective  in the area of scientific controversies.
Before I was a researcher at ITAS, co-authoring a book with my former employer Michael Nentwich from Vienna´s Institute of Technology Assessment (ITA) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences: Cyberscience 2.0. Research in the Age of Digital Social Networks. It picks up and deepens results of the project Interactive Science (funded by Volkswagen Foundation) for which I was working before.

You can find more information about my work on this website. For latest information, please follow me at Twitter. Of course, you are welcome to contact me if you have further questions or ideas for co-operations. Thank you for your interest!
